---- — NEWBURYPORT — Newburyport Youth Services and The BEACON Coalition will honor their fifth annual Asset Builders at an awards night on Thursday, March 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in City Hall Auditorium, 60 Pleasant St.
This year’s Asset Builder Award winners are:
Rabbi Poupko and Family: Positive Family Communication
Carrie O’Donnell of Newburyport: Caring Neighborhood
Lauren Sundstrom, youth advocate: Equality and Social Justice
Stephen Malenfant, Newburyport High teacher: Positive View of Personal Future
John Halloran, Gulf of Maine Institute science director: School Engagement
Cathy Hill, physical education teacher: School Engagement
The Asset Builder Awards acknowledge people throughout Newburyport doing great work for the community. Nominated by local residents, the recipients have been selected for the award based on their natural ability and desire to support youth in the city and forge relationships with them that are positive, encouraging, supportive and empowering.
