---- — New owners for Animal Health Center of Salisbury

Animal Health Center of Salisbury, 59 Lafayette Road, was purchased by Dr. Tumkur Narasimhan after the retirement of Dr. Roger Larsen. The hospital is now undergoing renovations to provide clients with the best care with new state-of-the-art equipment to allow for more in-house testing, radiography, ultrasound, surgery, dental procedures, internal medicine, nutrition and behavioral consultation.

Narasimhan has been a practicing veterinarian since 1995. He is also the co-owner of Main Street Animal Hospital in Bradford,. He is a graduate of Mysore Veterinary College and also holds master’s and doctorate degrees in animal physiology and biochemistry.

The staff also includes Dr. Christine Schlupf, a 1996 graduate of Ontario Veterinary College, Canada. She has practiced both small and large animal medicine for the last 17 years.

Stephanie Cockman and Nicole Mentus will continue to provide office management and technical support. Cockman started her career at Animal Health Center 12 years ago as a receptionist and has been trained to assist the technicians and doctors. She has mastered in animal grooming, which she will continue at the practice. Mentus has worked at Animal Health Center for five years, but has 17 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine and emergency care.

DiResta vice president of state society

Newburyport podiatrist James DiResta is serving as vice president of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society for the 2012-2013 term. The society is the state’s professional group for podiatric physicians and surgeons. In addition to his Newburyport practice, DiResta is affiliated with Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport and Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Preventative Medicine Committee and chairman of the Podiatric Health of APHA. DiResta lives in Newburyport with his wife, Susan, and their six children.

Email marketing seminar March 15

The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced will hold an educational seminar on email marketing on Friday, March 15, at Newburyport Public Library, 94 State St. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m., followed by the presentation from 8 to 10 a.m. The seminar will be presented by Melissa Albano-Davis of Grapevine Marketing. Participants will discover how communicating with their customers and other interested people on a regular basis can help them stay connected and generate increased referrals, repeat sales and unwavering customer loyalty. Best practices and proven strategies on email marketing basics, building a quality email list, creating valuable email content, getting emails delivered and read and learning from the results will be highlighted.
