Lenten services at Immaculate Conception Parish

Eucharistic Adoration, St. James Chapel: During Lent the Friday time of Eucharistic Adoration will conclude with Benediction at 11:30 a.m. because of the 12:05 Liturgy.

Stations of the Cross: Fridays, 7 p.m. in the church. Many parishioners remember the Stations of the Cross as a regular part of Lenten Devotions. Join us as we meditate on the Passion and Death of Jesus in prayer and simple song.

Liturgy: During Lent there will be two daily liturgies Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. and 12:05 p.m.

“Light is on for You”: Wednesday evenings, confessions will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in addition to the Saturday times.

Intro to Meditation class offered

The Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport will offer an eight-week class entitled “An Introduction to Insight Meditation.” The class is designed for anyone interested in learning Insight Meditation (Vipassana). Vipassana is a simple practice that steadies the mind by grounding attention in the present moment; it originated in the Buddhist tradition more than 2,500 years ago. Class begins Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will last eight weeks. Cost is $136. For registration information, visit www.imcnewburyport.org.
