Author to speak, conduct workshops at Unity
Noted speaker and author of the book, "The Hell I Can't," Terry McBride will visit Unity on River, speaking at Sunday Service tomorrow at 10 am. His topic will be "You Are Already Powerful." He will also present a workshop, "Using Divine Power," tomorrow and Monday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Cost for the workshop is $40 for both evenings, or $25 for one evening.
The Sunday evening workshop will explore the challenge people having in understanding the authority they have on this physical plane and the power people have to access for their personal priorities. The Monday evening workshop will show how to use choice to take charge of your creative mind and start moving to what you want.

Wednesday program at St. Paul's

Theology on Tap Tuesday
Theology on Tap is a speaker series that will take place in a local pub or restaurant and that focuses on topics of faith and contemporary issues that directly affect the lives of adults in the 20s, 30s and 40s. The schedule for Tuesday begins at 7 p.m. with a speaker at Holy Family Parish Center, Amesbury, followed by a 5-minute walk to a local restaurant for casual conversation for about an hour. Antique show July 26
The 46th Antique Show and Sale will be held Monday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Belleville Congregational Church, 300 High St., Newburyport. Admission is $4. There will be more than 50 dealers, both indoors and out. Lunch will be sold by the women of Belleville Congregational Church.
Talk on spirituality Wednesday
The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine-MA Campus (ChIME-MA) is presenting a free talk on spirituality on Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Newburyport Library, 94 State St., Newburyport. Paula Jaye, a Newburyport artist and interfaith community minister, offers an expression of her Creative Spiritual Care ministry through the visual arts, presents a meditative experience, combining her original atmospheric art and photography with inspirational quotes to illuminate spiritual ideas in a multimedia presentation entitled: "The Journey."
On July 22, also at 7 at the Newburyport Library, ChIme-MA presents "Interfaith Spiritual Practices: The Mystics Among Us." The program offers a brief taste of several spiritual practices from various wisdom traditions, including Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and First World Peoples. Participatory experiences designed to awaken mystical qualities of awe, passion and community will be shared. The presenters are the Rev. Jacob Watson, abbott of ChIME, and the Rev. Joel Grossman, director of ChIME-MA.
Spiritual teacher, author at Unity
Dr. Michael Mirdad, noted spiritual teacher, healer and author, will visit Unity on River for several engagements:
Mirdad will lead Unity's Wednesday Evening Services on July 21 at 7 p.m.
He will present a workshop entitled "An Evening of Miracles" on Thursday, July 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. This evening lecture is especially informative for students of A Course in Miracles or "miracle consciousness." Suggested donation is $20.
Mirdad will also speak at Sunday service on July 25 at 10 a.m.
Following the service, Mirdad will present his workshop entitled "You're Not Going Crazy ... You're Just Waking Up!," from noon to 3 p.m. The workshop is based on his newest best-selling book by the same title. During the workshop, Mirdad will discuss the steps necessary to nurturing joy in one's life. Suggested donation is $35.
Church collects shoes for Soles4Souls
St. James Episcopal Church in Amesbury is collecting footwear of all types and sizes to be given to local entities and global programs who will supply footwear to those in need. Last year, St. James gave out more than 395 pairs of footwear, in conjunction with Soles4Souls. This year's goal is to collect and distribute more than 400 pairs by Aug. 1. Anyone with any gently worn or new footwear of any type, any size who would like to donate to this program should drop off the footwear (in a plastic bag) at St. James Episcopal Church, 120 Main St., Amesbury. Wednesday service in place of Sunday service
The First Congregational Church of Georgetown will be holding Wednesday evening worship services this summer in place of Sunday mornings.
Summer is a busy time for everyone and may not allow you to attend worship services on Sundays. Keep your weekend plans and join us for an informal service every Wednesday evening. Fellowship hour will follow the service. Regular Sunday worship hours will resume on Sept. 5.

Monthly bean supper in Newbury
The First Parish Church of Newbury on High Road holds a monthly bean supper on the third Saturday of every month. The menu is the same each month: a variety of beans, ham, hot dogs, cole slaw, rolls, desserts, rolls and beverage. It is served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The price is $8 for adults and $5 for children with a $20 maximum for a family.
