In D.C., way past time to heal breach

“Both sides are getting a sigh of relief out of it,so has Wall Street. Why do you think there was a big jump on the stock exchange Thursday?” Freddy asked.”.

“But what about the hard noses on both sides?” I asked.

“They have to come away with enough to make the other side to look like losers so as to comfort their hard liners,” Freddy said.

“A draw?” I asked.

“From what they can make of it so it’s good enough for their side in the House campaign ahead,” Freddy said. “Both sides have to come out of this as winners.”

“In the eyes of their beholders,” I said.

“In the marketing state by state,” Freddy said.

“Democrats want the House back, and the Republicans not only want to hold a lead there, but to take over the Senate as well.

“That’s not going to happen,” I said.

“Probably not, but there’s always hope -- especially by the Democrats.

“The way things are going over seas Obama can’t let that happen if he wants to end his presidency with something left to cheer about.”

“And that’s his health plan,” I said.

“Big Time,” Freddy said. ‘‘He has signed hundreds of things into law he could brag about, but none are as important as the health care with his name on it.”

“And Republicans want to hang it around his neck like the albatross,” I said.

“No, they want him to hang it around his neck, but they’re willing to give him a hand if he’ll take it,” Freddy said.

“And Boehner?” I asked.

“Whatever he doesn’t have to cry about would be more than somewhat and he’ll take it,” Freddy said. “Both sides need an end to this they can campaign with. It’s been Katy bar the door time and time’s just about up.”

“And how do you know that?” I asked.

“Because money talks and Wall Street just told us,” Freddy said.
