---- — AMESBURY — The Amesbury Educational Foundation’s 4th annual Autumn Evening of Giving is Monday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Ale House, 33 Main St. Tickets are on sale now for $25 per person, and include a seasonal buffet dinner and commemorative pint glass to fill with beers on tap.
This is an evening of fun and excitement with a chance to win $1,000 by playing AEFI Poker, as well as silent auction items up for bid including a week-long getaway to North Conway and many other wonderful items.
The evening culminates with the awarding of the annual $10,000 Jordan M. Shay Memorial Grant and trophy. This will be presented through AEFI to honor Jordan, who graduated from Amesbury High School in 2005. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army and was killed in Iraq in September of 2009. AEFI will also be awarding an additional $5,000 grant during this event.
AEFI Poker will again be a part of the Autumn Evening of Giving. Buy one envelope for $20 or three envelopes for $50. Each envelope has a poker hand. All envelopes will be opened at the event, and the best poker hand wins $1,000, the second best wins $250, and third prize is a $100 gift card to The Ale House. AEFI Poker envelopes are available to be purchased in advance, and players do not need to be present that evening to win.
