Children in Seabrook case released from hospital

SEABROOK — Although police had little to add yesterday about the investigation into the circumstances that led to a True Road family being rushed to Boston hospitals Tuesday night, there is good news concerning the health of the two young children involved.

“Our understanding is that the children are out of the hospital and staying with relatives,” Seabrook police Chief Lee Bitomske said yesterday.

According to a press release issued by County Attorney Jim Reams on Wednesday morning, Seabrook police responded to 15 True Road on a medical emergency about 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The call resulted in Wendy Wright and her 6- and 7-year-old children being transported to Boston hospitals.

Nine Seabrook officers and firefighters responded to the emergency call; however, neither Reams nor Seabrook police would comment further on the incident, saying only that the case was under investigation. At this point, no arrests have been made.

Bitomske said Reams’ office was called in as a matter of procedure.

“In an investigative situation like this one, our protocol requires that we inform the county attorney’s office and that’s what we did,” Bitomske said on Wednesday. “Seabrook is doing the investigation on this incident with the assistance of the county attorney.”

Bitomske said police are still piecing together the circumstances of the case, and can’t comment while an active investigation is ongoing.

“Seabrook police are interviewing witnesses, while still being assisted by the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office,” Bitomske said yesterday.
