Seabrook Library hosts dinosaurs in July

The dinosaurs are coming to the Seabrook Library at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9. That’s when the Boston Museum of Science presents a hands-on program to give kids a chance to think like paleontologists and explore the world of dinosaurs.

Perfect for those aged 4 and older, this program allows children to interact with fossils, study a simulated dinosaur track and excavate a replica field site.

Parents must register children for the event by calling Lisa at the library at 603-474-2044, or emailing lmichaud@sealib.org.

The Seabrook Police Department is a participant in the Crimeline for the Hamptons, which for years has offered a way for the public to provide anonymous tips to police by phone. It is a valuable tool in fighting crime; recently, citizens whose tips resulted in arrests were given rewards from the Crimeline.

But Crimeline for the Hamptons announced recently the availability of TipSoft, a service allowing citizens to anonymously submit crime-related tips through the web, a text message or from any Android or iPhone mobile device with the TipSubmit mobile app. The use of TipSoft is part of the organization’s proactive efforts to prevent, reduce and solve crimes.

TipSoft uses familiar technology, which lets members of the public carry on an anonymous two-way conversation with the organization without requiring them to speak directly to police. TipSoft also supports users’ ability to submit videos or photographs using the TipSoft mobile app. TipSoft can be used to submit information on crimes, missing children, fugitives and other non-emergency, non-urgent situations.

To date, the TipSoft system across the country has received more than two million tips, resulting in 145,000 arrests, 55,000 fugitives caught and more than $5.3 billion recovered in drugs and property, including 11,000 vehicles and 22,000 weapons.

Tips can be submitted to Crimeline of the Hamptons by visiting https://www.tipsubmit.com and selecting Hamptons as the region, or by texting the word “CRIMES” (274637) with the keyword Hamptons. Crimeline’s facebook page is www.facebook.com/hamptoncrimeline.
