Road work set to begin this week

NEWBURYPORT — City officials say that road improvements on selected local streets will start this week.

The thoroughfares to receive repair and/or resurfacing include Purchase Street, from Lime Street to Franklin Street; Ferry Road, at the intersection of Noble Street; and the following: Highland Avenue, Shandel Drive, Brooks Court, Willow Avenue, Stanley Avenue, Jackson Street and Beacon Avenue.

Work hours are scheduled to be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week, and Saturdays if needed.

City leaders say each project is different, and work time may vary from a few days to a few weeks once the construction has started.
