Fair offers contests for all ages

TOPSFIELD – The 2014 Topsfield Fair will offer hundreds of contests for entrants of all ages, interests, and backgrounds this fall.

Contests include photography, woodworking, quilting, winemaking, baking, pumpkin decorating, and much more.

Competitors have the opportunity to win many typical prizes such as trophies, prize money and bragging rights, but some categories bring awards to the next level, offering medallions, a sundae a month for a year from Goodies Ice Cream in Danvers, pies from Mann Orchards in Methuen, and a gift basket from Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury.

Deadlines to enter contests vary, with some passing in late August and other set during the actual fair, which will run from Oct. 3 to Oct. 13.

Regulations and entry forms for all departments can be found in the “Exhibitor’s Handbook” section of the Topsfield Fair website: www.topsfieldfair.org.

Exhibitors can also create an online account and submit all of their entry forms directly on the website. Exhibitors who have questions or would like printed copies of a department’s rules should call 978-887-5000.
