Kingston Days begin Aug. 1
Kingston Days is an annual event that celebrates the town of Kingston, NH’s birthday. It is located on the “Kingston Plains” on Main St. The three-day event starts Friday Aug. 1 with food, music and hot air balloon rides, finished with a fireworks show at dusk.
Saturday is a full day of events to include but certainly not limited to a huge motorcycle show, Maximum Velocity (crazy bike show), The Taste of Rockingham (local restaurants showing off their best flavors), live music all day, kids events and the flea market.
Sunday comes back with the Taste of Rockingham, arts and crafts, the famous “All Vehicle Car Show,” kids events, live music and raffles. For more information, visit the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KingstonDaysCelebration.
R.A.D. session starts July 28
Pingree School in South Hamilton will host a four-session Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) program this summer for recent high school graduates heading to college, a national program designed to help young women protect themselves from potential harm.
Rape Aggression Defense system is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The course teaches woman four parts of risk: risk awareness, reduction, recognition and avoidance, before progressing to the basics of hands on defense training.
The R.A.D. class is a 12-hour course. Day 1 is lecture. Days 2 and 3 teach the R.A.D. techniques of self defense. Day 4 is the simulation, real life scenarios to put all of the knowledge to test.
The schedule for the Pingree R.A.D. program is: July 28, 1 to 4 p.m.; July 31, 1 to 4 p.m.; Aug 4, 5 to 8 p.m.; Aug. 7, 1 to 4 p.m.
