---- — NEWBURYPORT — The Newburyport Redevelopment Authority is scheduled to conduct its regular meeting tomorrow night, beginning at 7 at the public library.

Organization officials say that the Committee for an Open Waterfront has been invited to present its vision of what changes can be made on the 4.2 riverfront acres that the NRA owns.

NRA officials have already presented a tentative vision of a revitalized park, which they say would provide more park space while “ensuring the economic viability of the project.”

In the current NRA concept, the configuration of buildings would allow for approximately 5 acres of waterfront park, an increase over the 3.7 acres that currently exist (including city-owned land).

NRA spokesmen say they are looking at such a plan to maximize the potential park space while also ensuring the economic viability of the project. In following its tentative concept, the NRA has said the waterfront could consist of roughly 5 acres of park and just over half an acre of new buildings.

The footprint for the proposed three buildings is 24,000 square feet or 8,000 square feet per building or .55 acres, according to the NRA.

COW officials in recent weeks have been presenting an alternative concept that calls for more park, but no major construction.
