This Day in History

On this day in 1766, Jacob Perkins, one of America’s greatest 19th century inventors, was born. His genius created a printing process that prevented paper money from being counterfeited. This money was distributed to banks throughout New England with almost all of it printed for nearly 25 years on Fruit Street.
