February Vacation fun:
Nappy's Puppets present "Father Goose's Tales" on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. for children ages 5 and up. Father Goose's Tales is a modern retelling of nursery rhymes, stories and children's songs that will keep the whole family rolling in the aisles. Jim Napolitano and his shadow puppets have appeared on a number of children's television shows, including "Between the Lions" and "The Book of Pooh." No registration required.
Family Movie Matinee: "Racing Stripes" (rated PG) on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. for children ages 5 and up. An abandoned zebra grows up believing he is a racehorse, and with the help of his talking barnyard friends and a teenage girl, sets out to achieve his dream of racing with thoroughbreds. Come and enjoy a free afternoon movie at the library. Bring some friends, a blanket to lie on and a snack. No registration required.
Photocollage with Ann McCrea on Feb. 23 from 2 to 3:30pm. This free program is open to ages 11 and up. Space is limited, so stop by the children's room or call 978-346-9441 to register. Merrimac residents will take precedence during registration. Artist and sculptor McCrea will show examples from artists like Romaire Beardon, and Picasso. Participants will then create their own photocollage using magazines and their imaginations. Some magazines will be provided, but others may be brought as well.
