NH man charged with swiping empty beer kegs

NEWBURYPORT — A Newton, N.H., man is expected to be arraigned today at Newburyport District Court for allegedly stealing empty beer kegs from behind the Black Cow restaurant early Saturday morning.

Vincent E. Pardini Jr., 46, of 10 Wallace St., was arrested Saturday at 4:07 a.m. and charged with larceny from a building and receiving stolen property under $250.

According to police, a neighbor saw Pardini steal several kegs and place them in a beige-colored pickup truck. The witness called police and followed the truck as it cut through the parking lot for the adjacent Michael’s Harborside restaurant.

The truck then turned onto Winter Street and was pulled over by police on Route 1 near Low Street. Making the arrest were officers Gregory Whitney, Kevin Martin, Eric Marshall and Sgt. Stephen Chaisson.

Local police believe Pardini may be involved in additional thefts involving empty beer kegs from restaurants in Amesbury.
