The Pettengill Cup Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, July 29, at Ipswich Country Club, with all proceeds going to Pettengill House, a social service agency headquartered in Salisbury.

Run by Newbury teenager Tom Walsh, the cost is $200, and businesses or individuals can sponsor a tee for $100.

“We are close to our goal of 110 golfers,” Walsh said. “We are also trying to get 100 tee sponsors.”

The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society has new hours for its adoption center. The new hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

July 1 is the deadline to get a cat’s photo into the 2014 MRFRS Cat Calendar. Email calendar@mrfrs.org for guidelines on electronic or print submission.

On Thursday, 20 percent of the all sales at Newburyport’s Book Rack between 6 and 8 p.m. will be donated to the MRFRS.
