Change of location for session on flood maps

---- — NEWBURY — The town will host an informational session regarding the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s new flood insurance rate maps on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Newbury Elementary School Cafeteria, 63 Hanover St.

A previous press release included an incorrect location for the session.

Representatives from FEMA and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation will be present to assist Essex County residents and property owners review the new flood maps, which will become effective July 16. Representatives from the state Flood Hazard Management Program will also be in attendance. The informational session will be “open house” style and no appointments are required.

Periodically during the evening FEMA representatives will give a brief presentation regarding the new delineations, flood insurance and the changes passed by Congress with the Flood Reform Act.
