---- — AMESBURY — Local police are looking for the public’s help in identifying a man who walked into a CVS Pharmacy on Route 110 Sunday evening and ran off with baby formula.

Amesbury police Lt. William Scholtz said a man described as in his late 20s wearing glasses, jeans and a dark fleece shirt, walked into the pharmacy around 8 p.m., threw an unknown quantity of baby formula into a trash bag and ran out of the store.

Scholtz said baby formula can be used as a cutting agent for narcotics or can be traded for drugs. The suspect may have also stolen the item for its intended purpose.

Since the robbery, police have been able to come up with some leads as to the person’s identity. A collection of video stills of the suspect entering the store was recently placed on the department’s Facebook page.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Amesbury Police Department at 978-388-1217 and ask for officer Matthew Cunningham.
