“We strive to do all that we can to connect our students as they transition to Winnacunnet,” said SMS Principal Les Shepard. “Our Interact and National Junior Honor Society Clubs are two great new connections.”
Interact is a club, founded by Rotary International, for students ages 10 to 18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out community service projects and learning about the world. Each Interact club organizes at least two community service projects a year: one that benefits their local community and one that encourages international understanding.
“I was able to visit a class that I signed up to take next year” said SMS Interact Club president Morgan Kelley of her experience. “I am excited to join Interact at Winnacunnet next year.”
This is the first year for the Seabrook Interact Club, which was chartered in late December through the support and sponsorship of the Hampton Rotary Club. The Winnacunnet Interact Club, also sponsored by the Hampton Rotary Club, has been in existence for over 10 years.
Many of the Seabrook students also participate in the newly formed chapter of National Junior Honor Society.
