Fundraiser April 28 for Equine Rescue
Newbury Equine Rescue is holding a fundraiser on Monday, April 28, at 6 p.m. at Glenn’s Restaurant and Cool Bar, 44 Merrimac St., Newburyport. The fundraiser will feature the musical talents of Michelle Willson and Justin Quinn. A silent auction is planned, and a buffet and cash bar will be available. The nonprofit organization, nicknamed Second Chance, was started by Julie Price, who has been rescuing horses for many years, saving them from euthanization. She currently has five rescue racehorses. Price is planning to use proceeds from the fundraiser for horse barn repair at her High Road farm in Newbury and for medical bills and feed for the horses. A $50 donation is requested at the door. For more information, call Price at 978-465-0074.
