Raffle Night to benefit Holy Redeemer Parish

The 2nd Annual Raffle Night, sponsored by Holy Redeemer Parish, Merrimac/West Newbury, will be held today at 7 p.m., at the Parish Hall, 4 Green St., Merrimac. There are over 100 donated items with multiple chances to win. Light refreshments will be served. Fun for all ages.

Change in date for yard sale

The Market Street Baptist Church, 37 Market St., has changed the date of the indoor yard sale to Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. -1 p.m.

Items fill the gym at the back of the building. Nothing is priced. All donations are accepted. The proceeds from this sale go directly to a fund that will pay the expenses for several church volunteers to go to Canada the week of July 19-26.

This will be the sixth summer connecting with Pastor Ian MacFarlane and the members of the Living Hope Community Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Each year volunteers spend the week at this church helping with children’s programs like Vacation Bible School and Bible Basketball. The Canadian church’s volunteers have also come to Amesbury twice to help with similar programs.
