With 'Math on the Merrimack,' students take skills outside the classroom

As the current junior class looks forward to becoming seniors in the fall, their underclassmen will be able to continue their work thanks to a new grant from the Essex National Heritage Commission for $1,500 that the AEFI will match next year. Regis said she believes this funding should keep the program going for another year to possibly two more.

“It’s not an abstract concept anymore,” Regis said. “They have actually seen it and can remember when they were out on the boats.”
