Trinity United Church will hold a blood drive with the American Red Cross at the Parish House on Christmas Eve from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. As a thank-you and symbol of the season of giving, donors will receive a coupon for a free, regular 6-inch sub at any participating Subway restaurant.
For each donation, it’s possible that three lives can be saved, and church officials urge residents to give the gift of life this holiday season.
Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled online at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Trinity United Church holds a similar blood drive with the Red Cross every month. Trinity United’s parish house is located on Route 1, across from Town Hall.
Those who travel on the Spaulding Turnpike, also known as N.H. Route 16, will notice changes starting today at the Rochester tolls due to a lane closure, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Maintenance work beginning today and lasting until Dec. 5 will close the southbound automatic coin lane at the Rochester tolls after the morning commute, and the northbound automatic coin lane after the evening commute.
Motorists seeking to pay tolls with cash during this period should use the manned lanes on the right sides of the Rochester Toll Plaza. Electronic message boards are being used to alert drivers of the lane closures.
Seabrook Women’s Club will hold its annual Holiday Party on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. at the Ashworth Hotel, located at Hampton Beach Center. Members and friends are invited to attend.
The cost is $30 per person. Reservations are required and may be made by calling Carole Jean at 978-479-4470.
Volunteers are needed to help with the annual Gift of Giving free holiday dinner, which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Seabrook Community Center.
