City outlines leaf pickup, compost hours

NEWBURYPORT — City officials have released information about leaf pick-up and drop-off times, as well as a holiday schedule.

The yard-waste facility on Crow Lane will close for the season on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2:30 p.m.

The remaining hours for the facility are as follows:

Today: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday to Friday, Dec. 4 to Dec. 7: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 8: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Recycling and energy coordinator Molly Ettenborough said today is the First Saturday of the Month Recycling Day from 8 a.m. to noon at Crow Lane. Recyclables including tires, metal and “anything with a cord” will be accepted. (Some fees apply.)

The final curbside leaf pick-up will take place the week of Dec. 10 on residents’ regular trash day.
