Veterans Luncheon: Veterans and a guest are invited to a luncheon in their honor at the Merrimac Senior Center, 100 E Main St., on Friday, Nov. 9, at noon. Call the senior center at 978-346-9549 to make a reservation.

Craft Fair: The senior center is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair with more than 20 vendors from the region on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will also be a cafe with muffins, soups, chowders, cookies, coffee, tea and cider. Featured items for sale will include handmade jewelry, hand-sewn and knitted items, baked goods and preserves, Christmas and Thanksgiving items and more.

Peggy’s Pantry: The Merrimac Senior Food Pantry will be distributing food packages for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, Nov. 7, and Friday, Nov. 16. Anyone who would like to receive a food package should contact the senior center and speak with Laura or Joyce. Donations of canned goods and nonperishables are gratefully accepted. For a wish list, contact the senior center.

Red Hatters: The Red Hatters will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 13, for a “Beauty Day” at the Cosmetology Department at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill. Call Lorraine Chevalier at 978-346-9732 to make a reservation.

Wii Tournament: The Merrimac and Amesbury senior centers hold a Wii Tournament on the second Tuesday of every month. The next tournament will be held Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Merrimac Senior Center. Anyone wishing to participate is welcome to drop in. Regularly scheduled Wii games are played every Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Volunteers needed: The senior center is looking for volunteer receptionists to answer phones, help decorate the center for holidays and seasons, aid with the Gift Shop, make reassurance calls to homebound elderly and make evening calls for the “Tuck In Program.” Anyone wishing to make a difference in the lives of seniors should call the center and speak with Sandy.
