Patriakeas joins Haverhill Bank

as vice president

John Patriakeas of Groveland has joined Haverhill Bank as vice president, compliance officer and Bank Secrecy Act officer. He is responsible for ensuring the bank conforms to federal and state banking rules and regulations.

Prior to joining Haverhill Bank, Patriakeas spent nearly 18 years at Eastern Bank, where he held various management positions. Most recently, he served as the vice president of compliance and operational risk. He is a certified regulatory compliance manager.

The former chairman of the Massachusetts Community Banking Council and a member of the Eastern Massachusetts Compliance Network, Patriakeas lives in Groveland with his wife and two daughters.

Currier & Associates receives women-owned business certificate

The interior design firm Currier & Associates, Inc. was awarded a Women-Owned Business Enterprise certificate by the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office.

Sharon Currier began the company in 1974. Later incorporated as Currier & Associates, Inc., the company has grown into a full-service interior design firm with unique perspectives on designing enriching environments stemming from more than 30 years in the field.

The Currier design team has competed work on nearly 1,000 projects, including healthcare facilities, senior living residences, multi-family housing, corporate offices and residences for local, regional and national clients. Recently completed projects include the Dudley Square Senior Housing for Central Boston Elder Services and the renovation of Jewish Geriatrics’ skilled nursing center in Longmeadow, New England Pediatrics in Billerica and Healthbridge Management’s facilities in Beverly and Newington, Conn. Locally, the Currier team recently renovated the new child care center for the YWCA Greater Newburyport.

This past winter, Currier & Associates, Inc. was ranked in the top 25 of the largest interior design firms in Massachusetts by The Boston Business Journal.

Job Fair Nov. 27

ValleyWorks Career Center will present its November Job Fair, A Salute to U.S. Military Veterans, on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Technology Center at Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliott St., Haverhill. At least 20 or more employers are expected to participate in the event.
