Merrimac senior activities

(Continued)

Friends of the COA: The next meeting of the Friends of Merrimac COA is today at 1:30 p.m. All dues-paying members are invited to attend and urged to bring ideas to help plan future events.

Quilters: Calling all quilters join us for a Quilting afternoon! Bring your current or old projects on Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m.

Transportation available: Anyone in need of a ride to medical appointments, the Merrimac Senior Center, local hairdresser or grocery shopping can call the Merrimac Senior Center to arrange transportation with the van or volunteer drivers (Northern Essex Elder Transport). Call a minimum of two business days in advance for local transportation, two weeks for medical appointments to Peabody, Burlington, Boston and anywhere beyond 15 miles from Merrimac. Cost is based on mileage but only $1 one way within Merrimac or $2 roundtrip. For more information or to set up a ride, call the Senior Center at 978-346-9549 during normal working hours.

Merrimac TV Channel 18 “Merrimac Stories”: Do you have a life story that you would be interested in sharing? We are looking for people who grew up in Merrimac or moved to Merrimac who will share in its history, culture and anecdotes. Call the Senior Center and speak with Laura about any ideas for TV shows or if you are interested in sharing your story or Chris Liquori at Merrimac Town Hall.
