Newburyport Ale House on tonight's Planning Board agenda

NEWBURYPORT — The Planning Board is scheduled to meet tonight at 7, and among the items on the agenda is a “major site plan review” of 40 Merrimac Street, LLC (the proposed Newburyport Ale House).

Restaurant developer Joseph Leone has proposed a 442-seat eatery at 40 Merrimac, which is at the junction of Merrimac and Green streets.

Leone has brought his plans to several city commissions, and this appearance marks another opportunity for city officials to review his proposal.

Also on the agenda is an “internal discussion” of plans of businessman David Hall to develop property at 5 and 9 Cottage Court.
