DPW offers free bulk stickers

AMESBURY — As residents seek to start spring cleaning, the Amesbury Department of Public Works is offering some help.

Residents can place one bulk item curbside for disposal with a free bulk sticker on the regular solid waste collection day from Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3.

Residents must pick up the free sticker by April 26 at the DPW office at 39 South Hunt Road between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A bulk sticker can be used for a piece of furniture, a mattress or box spring, toilet, one room of carpeting cut up in 4-foot sections and bound or any household item that does not fit into a barrel, as long as it is not a banned item such as construction material, hazardous waste, metal or outside items. Items with bulk stickers can be placed curbside the evening before collection.

Regularly, stickers can be purchased for $5 at the DPW office during business hours. For more information, call 978-388-8116 or e-mail
