Library planning vacation programs for children

NEWBURYPORT — February vacation begins the week of Feb. 20, and Children's Room at the Newburyport Public Library is planning some fun programs. Sign-up for the following programs will begin online at www.newburyportpl.org or by phone at 978-465-4428.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, Jim Napolitano of Nappy's Puppets will be presenting his "Father Goose Tales" show. Come enjoy this extraordinary puppeteer bring shadow puppets and nursery stories to life. This program is open to children ages 3 and older and will take place at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, children in grades kindergarten to 3 will be hearing some great Eric Carle books and learning about his artistic style before making a unique collage using some of his well-known techniques from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

And on Thursday, Feb. 23, we will be celebrating duct tape day. Children in grades 3 to 6 will learn how to make a duct-tape wallet, then experiment making everyday items with duct tape from 3 to 4 p.m.
