PLAISTOW, N.H. — Assistant Principal Sean Kiley is leaving the Timberlane Regional High School for a new job in Exeter.
The Merrimac, Mass., resident will be the new principal of Exeter High School. He said his years working at Timberlane gave him the skills he needs for the job.
"I feel like I've been in training for the last nine years for an opportunity like this in Exeter," Kiley said. "I've learned a lot from a lot of great people here. I thank them for the opportunity."
Kiley, 42, signed his contract with Exeter Wednesday and will start his new job on July 1 with a salary of $102,000. He was hired to replace retiring principal Vic Sokul, and Exeter Superintendent Michael Morgan said Kiley is perfect for the job.
"The search committee was very impressed with Sean from the beginning," he said. "We sent a team of six people down to Timberlane last week to meet with students, administrators and teachers. We had overwhelmingly positive comments about Sean there."
Timberlane Superintendent Richard La Salle said he's very excited Kiley got the job, even though it means he's leaving the district.
"That's one of the premier high school jobs in the state and we're just proud of him," he said. "He's a wonderful young man, a great educator. He's one of the best I've ever seen with just connecting with the kids. I think Exeter is going to be very pleased."
