BIRD BANDING WORKSHOP

Learn the basics of bird banding and train to become a volunteer at the Joppa Flats Bird Banding Station on Plum Island. Thursday evening classroom session and Saturday morning field training.

Thursday, Sept. 19, 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 21, 7:30 a.m. to noon.

PARENT/CHILD WALKABOUT: HOP, WRIGGLE, SWIM!

Go outside to explore ecology, sights, and sounds while looking for critters at West Newbury’s Mill Pond recreation area. A fun, energetic format for families with children ages 3 to 6. Led by School and Youth Education Coordinator Lisa Hutchings. Choose one of two sessions.

Friday, Sept. 20, 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 2:30 p.m.

SEACOAST CARNIVAL FREE-FOR-ALL!

Celebrate the beaches, tide pools, and salt marshes at Joppa Flats with a full day of indoor/outdoor family fun. Rain or shine. Nature-themed attire welcome.
