Fundraising for the stadium project began in October 2011 with a $525,000 donation from the Institution for Savings. The overall price tag of the stadium renovations, originally estimated at $1.7 million, now have a cost of $2.5 million.
Renovations, which will include replacing the running track, replacing the bleachers and lighting and installing an artificial turf field, are not expected to begin until more funds are secured, though a goal of September 2014 has been set for the refurbished stadium to be open for use.
The Board of Library Trustees will soon be working on the long-range plan for the Rowley Public Library and is seeking community input. A strategic planning survey will be mailed out with the Friends of the Library May newsletter, or visit www.rowleylibrary.org for a copy.
