Spring Fest planned for Memorial Day weekend

---- — NEWBURYPORT — Spring has arrived and Newburyport will be the place to be on Memorial Day weekend with the annual Spring Fest on Sunday and Monday, May 26 and 27. The lead sponsor for the festival is Xfinity.

On Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 2,7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Newburyport Spring Festival will feature art and fine crafts on Inn, State and Pleasant streets. Visitors and locals alike will hear live music and be able to eat local food in Market Square.

Sixty-plus juried fine arts and craft artisans of all kinds will be on display over the two days. There is a wide selection of handmade jewelry, crafts for the home, handmade clothing, photography, seasonal gifts and pottery.

Two bands will take the stage over the two-day event. Jam Static, a blend of modern and classic rock, will play on May 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. On May 27 from 1 to 4 p.m., Way to the River will take the stage, a progressive rock cover band. The music sponsor is

The festival will feature a Kid’s Korner from noon to 3 p.m. both Sunday and Monday sponsored by Life is good! Activities for kids will include coloring, games, age-appropriate activities and much more!

In addition to Kid’s Korner, on Sunday, you will enjoy Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals, a puppetry and storytelling performance from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Lindsay brings a huge collection of beautifully handcrafted, giant hand puppets to audiences across New England. Characters come alive with wacky and unique voices!
