Peace Center holds homelessness program Sunday

AMESBURY — The Peace Center of the Amesbury Friends (Quakers) will present the program, “The Homeless: Who? What? Why? What Can We Do?” on Sunday at 2 p.m. at 120 Friend St.

The presentation will look at the state of homelessness in the richest country in the world. Participants will learn how the situation is being addressed and ways to help.

Speakers include Newburyport City Councilor Ed Cameron, who is the associate director of Housing and Homeless Services for Community Teamwork Inc. in Lowell, and Kirstie Moreno, Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance Speakers’ Bureau Coordinator. A formerly homeless member of the Alliance will also talk about the experience of being homeless.
