Programs at Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats

Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, located at One Plum Island Turnpike in Newburyport, is a natural history education and visitor center that is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and Monday holidays, 8:30 to 4 p.m.

SATURDAY MORNING BIRDING

Weekly trip with experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport and Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

Today, 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center, One Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport.

Fee: Adults $10; children ages 8 and older, $7. Registration is not required.

INTRODUCTION TO THE BIRDS AT COGSWELL’S GRANT

Explore Historic New England’s beautiful Cogswell’s Grant for a treasure trove of birds followed by refreshments in the historic house. Led by Mass Audubon Sanctuary Director Bill Gette.

Tuesday, May 21, 5 to 7 p.m.

Meet at Cogswell’s Grant on Spring Street in Essex.

Fee: $14. Registration is required.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIRDING

Join Joppa Flats Sanctuary Director Bill Gette and USFWS veteran David Weaver for this weekly birding field trip during migration in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. Appropriate for all birding levels.
