---- — Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, located at One Plum Island Turnpike in Newburyport, is a natural history education and visitor center that is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and Monday holidays, 8:30 to 4 p.m.

SATURDAY MORNING BIRDING

Weekly trip with experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport and Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

Fee: Adults $10; children ages 8 and older, $7. Registration is not required.

INTRODUCTION TO THE BIRDS AT COGSWELL’S GRANT

Explore Historic New England’s beautiful Cogswell’s Grant for a treasure trove of birds followed by refreshments in the historic house. Led by Mass Audubon Sanctuary Director Bill Gette.

KAYAK FAMILY PADDLE ON THE PARKER RIVER

For families with children ages 7 and older. Go for a kayaking excursion in the calm waters around Plum Island to secluded areas where we can witness wildlife without disturbing their activities. Co-sponsored by Plum Island Kayak.
