An Early Morning With Shorebirds

Sunday, Sept. 1

6 to 8 a.m.

Meet at Newburyport’s “seawall” on Water Street. The “seawall” is located between Neptune and Madison Streets.

$20

During this program on migrating shorebirds, the group will focus on the many aids to field identification, including physical characteristics, habitat preference and feeding techniques.

Shorebirds on The Flats

Monday, Sept. 2

6:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Watch for migrating shorebirds and expect to see black-bellied and semipalmated plovers, greater and lesser yellowlegs, semipalmated and least sandpipers, short-billed dowitchers, willets and more. The group will learn several aids to field identification, including physical characteristics, habitat preference and feeding techniques.
