---- — SALISBURY — Volunteers are needed to work at the Maria Miles Visitors Center and assist travelers who stop at the rest area on I-95 south, exit 60.
The summer season was extremely busy, and the visitors center has exceeded its own record this year, serving close to 50,000 visitors in the month of August. The center is on track to serve more than 300,000 visitors in calendar year 2013. These visitors are traveling from all parts of the world, requesting information about the North of Boston region, as well as many other areas throughout Massachusetts.
The Maria Miles Visitors Center is open seven days a week. Volunteers are needed throughout the year with all shifts available.
Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteer duties include providing travelers with information on lodging, dining, historic points of interest, area entertainment and attractions, and outdoor recreation opportunities, as well as providing maps and directions and answering general inquiries.
