---- — AMESBURY — The Amesbury Police Department, Amesbury Police Officers’ Association, Super Stop & Shop and the businesses of Carriagetown Plaza will be holding the 8th annual “Fill a Cruiser with Food” drive tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Super Stop & Shop, 100 Macy St.
Donations of packaged food will be accepted at the event to stock the shelves of the Our Neighbors’ Table Food Pantry. The pantry is in need of supplies as the holiday season and winter approach. This year, the need once again is especially high. Our Neighbors’ Table serves a free weekly meal to those in need each Wednesday night, provides a food pantry and many other services to the needy in our community.
Our Neighbors’ Table is in need of the following supplies: cereal, pasta, fruit juice, baby food, soup and beef stew, canned fruits and vegetables, kids’ snacks including granola bars and graham crackers, canned foods such as baked beans, ravioli, Spaghetti O’s, peanut butter, canned tuna, canned chicken.
Cash donations are also accepted and help the food pantry purchase other foods each week, such as eggs, bread and milk.
Donations may also be dropped off at the Amesbury police station, 19 School St., anytime before or after the Fill A Cruiser Food Drive. Helping out at the event again this year will be WNBP of Newburyport. WNBP will be at the food drive between 10 a.m. and noon.
