Book on local veterans to be published

NEWBURYPORT — The Newburyport Daily News and its sister papers in the North of Boston Media Group are creating a coffee table book featuring veterans from all wars and we would like to include your photos and stories in the publication.

The book, entitled “North of Boston Salute To Veterans,” will look at the men and women who served in the Civil War up to Iraq and Afghanistan, paying tribute to those who died and offering insight on the impact on the communities these brave veterans left behind when they went to serve the country.

The release date is in December and will coincide with a special event featuring speakers, brunch, a slideshow and an opportunity for veterans from all wars and their families to come together and share camaraderie.

Photo-scanning dates will be held in July and August at The Newburyport Daily News, The Eagle-Tribune, The Salem News, The Gloucester Daily Times and The Derry News. The first photo-scanning date is Tuesday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Eagle-Tribune, 100 Turnpike St., North Andover, and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Newburyport Daily News, 23 Liberty St., Newburyport. More dates will follow and will be announced in your local newspaper and on its website.

For submission guidelines, details on the scanning events and how to get a submission form, see the ad in this edition of The Daily News (Page 8).
