cats of the week

Hi, there, we're Bert and Ernie. We are big boys — big love bugs! Our owner passed away awhile back, and his family didn't want to take care of us, so they brought us to a vet to have us put to sleep — but lucky for us, the vet offered to take us in instead, and then she asked MRFRS to take care of us. We've been hanging out with the nice people at The Cat Tail Inn down at Muddy Creek Animal Care Center on Route 133 in Rowley. We are about 7 years old, and we're both neutered, up-to-date on shots, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped. You can adopt us both for a total of $100 — that's a lot of cat for your money! We really want to go home together, and we're ready to find a new family to love us. Come visit us at Cat Tail Inn Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (closed Wednesdays, 1 to 3 p.m.), or Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and please, take us home!

The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society is located at 63 Elm St., Salisbury, 978-462-0760, or at Petsmart in Danvers on Route 114, 978-223-0023. The Salisbury location is open for adoptions on Tuesday through Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, 2 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. The shelter is open by appointment only on Sunday and closed on Mondays. The Petsmart location has the same hours, with the addition of being open Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. For more information, log on to www.mrfrs.org.
