Programs at Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats

Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, located at One Plum Island Turnpike in Newburyport, is a natural history education and visitor center that is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and Monday holidays, 8:30 to 4 p.m.

Saturday Morning Birding

Join our experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

Let’s celebrate the abundance of nature’s bounty at Joppa Flats with a full day of free indoor/outdoor family fun, including taste-testing, examinations of invasive species, and bird walks. Rain or shine. Nature-themed attire welcome.

Join Joppa Flats Sanctuary Director Bill Gette for this special birding field trip around Cape Ann. Appropriate for all birding levels.

Meet at the Friendly’s restaurant in Gloucester, just off the first traffic circle on Route 128.

AFTERSCHOOL AT JOPPA: INTERTIDAL INVESTIGATORS!

Children in grades 1 to 4 are invited to engage in wildlife learning experiences with a different theme each week. Come for one or sign up for the series. Two remaining sessions. 12/4:Subtidal Scientists; 12/11: Beach Biologists
