Amesbury Lions collecting for hurricane victims

AMESBURY: Lions Clubs International Foundation has provided over $200,000 in grants to the people in the New York/New Jersey coastal communities impacted by the recent hurricane on Oct. 29.

On a more personal level, the Amesbury Lions Club will be collecting warm coats and jackets, sweaters and blankets to

deliver to the Neptune Township Lions Club in New Jersey for distribution to residents of that community who were affected by the recent hurricane.

Items can be dropped off at Amesbury City Hall now through Nov. 28 during regular business hours Monday throughThursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Financial contributions will also be gratefully accepted. Checks should be made payable to Neptune Township Lions Club.
