NEWBURY — The Newbury Town Library is currently showing photographs by Byfield resident David Pratt in the meeting room. Pratt sold and exhibited fine art prints for a living before transitioning into commercial photography on a full-time basis many years ago. His work has been published in books and magazines, and his prints have been displayed in institutions and galleries throughout the region. He was awarded the Massachusetts Arts Council grant for "The Cape Ann Photographs," and many of the images from that series are on display at the library.
The 375th Anniversary Committee is making their display of "Making Hay in the Sunshine" available for the public to view in the library's nonfiction area. The display provides information on the local marshes and waterways and illustrates the process of making salt marsh hay. The library has selected books to go along with the display for those who would like to learn more about the history of Newbury.
Triton Regional High School library media specialist Andrea Sargent has brought the exhibit "Triton Regional High School Then and Now" to the library for public viewing. The project was researched by current Triton students and includes artifacts from the graduating classes of 1973 and 1974, the first two graduating classes of Triton.
