Winter coat drive begins at community agencies

SALISBURY — Local agencies are conducting a coat drive to ensure no one has to endure the cold weather without being properly dressed.

Pettengill House, the Salvation Army and Community Action Inc. are all hoping those living in the region's communities will again be as generous as they have in years past. Over the past two years, the region has supported the coat drive by providing more than 1,200 coats to adults, children and families in need.

This year Pettengill is collaborating with other local agencies to provide distribution sites for the community coat drive. All coat donations can be taken to the following agencies: Pettengill House, 13 Lafayette Road, Salisbury; the Salvation Army, 40 Water St., Newburyport; Community Action Inc., Town Annex Building, 11 School St., 2nd floor, Amesbury.

For more information on this or other programs, contact Pettengill House at 978-463-8801.
