Newburyport's Mayor-elect Donna Holaday will join other newly elected mayors at a meeting with Gov. Deval Patrick at the Statehouse today. Holaday was called by Patrick following her win on Nov. 3. That phone call was followed up with a message from his aide inviting her to the meeting. Holaday earned 55 percent of the vote on election day and will become the city's next mayor in January. Last night, she was congratulated on her victory by Council President James Shanley and given a standing ovation.
