Seabrook School Notes
Seabrook Elementary School is holding its annual Scholastic Book Fair this week.
The book fair provides a wide variety of age-appropriate books, specifically selected to appeal to elementary school students.
There will be a Classroom Book Wish table at which teachers have placed books they've identified as those that would make wonderful additions to their classroom libraries. Those wishing to purchase and donate a book should make sure to check out the table.
The book fair is open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the school day, when children have a chance to choose and purchase books. The fair will also be open during parent/teacher conferences this week, so parents can do some shopping for a few books.
Those with questions should call Stella Munger, the school's literacy coordinator, at 603-474-2252, ext. 135.

Seabrook's Eye Appeal Optical Shop has volunteered to screen the eyes of every student at Seabrook schools, amounting to almost 1,000 children.
Seabrook school Nurse Helen and Nurse Mary were particularly pleased to received the call from Dr. Matthew Foley's office explaining Seabrook schools would be the recipient of their community service. Students, especially those in lower grades, may not be aware they need glasses until they are tested.
Vision screenings is important in helping identify children with eye or vision problems that can threaten sight and impair their ability to develop and learn normally. According to the American Optometric Association, one in four children has an undetected vision problem that can interfere with learning.
The Eye Appeal team — which includes Dr. Foley, David Thompson, Sarah York, Eva Ghika and Cynthia Smith — visit the school every Monday on their day off to perform vision exams. The team began testing on Nov. 2.
Opened in 2001, Eye Appeal Optical Shop is owned by David and Kevin Thompson and is located at the Seacoast Shopping Center.
