Council on Aging offers tea and fashion on Thursday

Looking for a great way to spend a couple of hours this holiday season? The Council on Aging has the perfect event to fill the bill with its Fashion Show and High Tea Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.

The event takes place at the Hilton Senior Center, located on Lafayette Road, right beside the Salisbury Fire Department.

The election process to replace the late Sen. Edward Kennedy in the U.S. Senate begins with a special state primary election planned for Tuesday, Dec. 8. According to Town Clerk Wilma McDonald, absentee ballots are now available at the Town Clerk's Office on the first floor of Town Hall for those who wish to vote in the upcoming special primary using an absentee ballot.

Residents are eligible to vote by absentee ballot if they meet one of the following requirements: a registered voter absent from Salisbury during normal polling hours; a registered voter with a physical disability preventing you from going to the polling place; religious belief.

The absentee ballot application can be picked up or filled out at the Town Clerk's Office or downloaded from the Town's Web site: www.salisburyma.gov/clerk.html

The completed application must be returned to the town clerk by noon on Monday, Dec. 7. Ballots must either be voted in the clerk's office or mailed to the voter.

Voted or completed ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day, either by mail or hand-delivered to Town Hall or the polling place at the Hilton Senior Center.

Polls at the Hilton Senior Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
