NEWBURYPORT — The Daughters of Isabella DeValera Circle #102 celebrated their 90th anniversary on Nov. 8 with a Mass for living and deceased members at the Immaculate Conception Church.
After the Mass, Angela Funchion was installed as regent, along with 17 other officers to serve for the next two years. The officers are: vice-regent, Regina Seeley; past regent, Judith Kennedy; financial secretary, Frances Ronan; recording secretary, Mary Moughan; treasurer, Nancy Reardon; scribe, Helena Thurlow; chancellor, Sandra Lambert; auditors, Marin Fortune, Julia O'Connor and Frances Reslewic; custodian, Jennie Jancewicz; monitor, Carol Trojan; banner bearer, Janet Hennessey; first guide, Andrea Carroll; second guide, Barbara English; inner guard, Zaida McFarlane; and outer guard, Elizabeth Collette.
The installation was followed by a banquet at Stripers Grille in Salisbury with 43 members attending. At the head table were: Regent Angela Funchion, Mass. State Regent Marin Fortune, Past International Regent Mary Whitney, Mass. State Treasurer Frances Reslewic, Mass. State Vice-Regent Dawn Burke, Mass. State Secretary Janet Isabelle, Past Regent Judy Kennedy and Chaplain Father Marc Piche.
A delegation of Daughters of Isabella from the Ware Circle also attended.
Outgoing Regent Judy Kennedy was presented with a basket of flowers in appreciation of her four years of dedicated service.
Chaplain Father Marc was presented a check for use in the parish. The raffle drawing was held, and 40 winning tickets were drawn. This is the group's largest fundraiser, from which it is able to offer scholarships and make donations to the parish. A sing-along with Andrea Carroll on the keyboard closed the event.
